Meadors, Inc. has an opening for an Architectural Designer/Intern to join our architecture staff. The proper person for this role would be an Architecture graduate with relevant experience, who has not necessarily obtained licensure, Masters in Architecture preferred.
Meadors is a design-build firm located in Charleston, SC that specializes in custom high-end residential and light commercial work. We focus on both historic preservation/restoration and new construction. Performing both architecture and construction for our projects is our primary focus. However, we have several clients where we only perform architecture and then work with other contractors to complete the work. It is the diversity of our employees, clients, and projects that makes Meadors such a unique collaborative environment.
In addition to typical responsibilities of an architectural designer, interested applicants must be able to work with our team, as well as, with our clients to listen, respond, and exceed expectations. Responsibilities include involvement within project teams from schematic design through construction on projects, reviewing shop drawings and related submittals, coordinating consultants in all phases, and directing the production of the projects. Candidates must be proficient in Revit, self-motivated, strong work ethic, and personally driven to consistently meet and exceed project design and performance goals. Ability to work independently and with a team, while coordinating with the various workshops within Meadors and with Meadors's consultants and subcontractors is a must.
In addition to the typical job application submission of providing a cover letter, resume, and portfolio, interested candidates are encouraged to visit www.meadorsinc.com and research the company structure, projects, and people. We are not looking for the typical candidate, but rather we’re looking for the best fit, the person that can come in and immediately be a contributing team player that buys in to the Meadors's philosophy and workshop structure. Interested candidates are encouraged to put more emphasis on the cover letter to describe their experience and how their experience uniquely positions them as the top candidate to work with Meadors and their collaborative workshop teams. It should be evident in the cover letter that the interested applicant has an understanding of Meadors and be able to describe how they fit into the Meadors team.
If you are interested in joining the Meadors team, please send your in-depth focused cover letter, along with your resume and portfolio or link to an online portfolio to Christine Bozigar at email@example.com. E-mail:firstname.lastname@example.org Phone: (843) 723-8585 Website: http://meadorsinc.com
