Come join us for a tour of The Fireproof Building
The new South Carolina Historical Society Museum will open onSept. 22 in downtown Charleston. The new museum is housed in one of the nation's most historic structures – "The Fireproof Building" – at 100 Meeting Street. The National Historic Monument was originally constructed in 1826 by Robert Mills, America's first architect and creator of the Washington Monument, and just completed a $6.8 million dollar renovationto become the new museum. The SCHS Museum has already been hailed by Architectural Digest as one of the "Most Noteworthy Museums Opening This Year."
